The Section of Minimally Invasive Surgery at Washington University School of Medicine welcomes the opportunity to assist you in providing the most advanced medical care for your patients.
Surgeons in the Department of Surgery have played a prominent role in the development of minimally invasive surgery, and a separate Section of Minimally Invasive Surgery was created in 2007. Today, Washington University minimally invasive surgeons offer a wide range of laparoscopic options for hernia repair, treatment of gastroesphageal reflux, achalasia (swallowing disorder) and surgical weight loss. One of our surgeons, L. Michael Brunt, MD, is also a leader in the Midwest in the treatment of athletic pubalgia, more commonly referred to as sports hernia.
